Food, Family + Fun!

Food, Family and Fun

CarFest is very much a family festival. There will be food to cater for all tastes and ages, from breakfast through to late night snacks and we promise that no one will go underfed!

And as well as the cars and the music there is much to entertain everyone around the Festival. From air displays and digger dancing, Bug Shows and bread making classes.

Fabulous Festival Food

Fabulous Festival Food

Laverstoke Park Farm isn’t just the venue, it’s the source of a wide range of organic food which will be on offer to you at CarFest – from an early morning breakfast with organic, nitrate free, bacon rolls, a mid morning brunch, a full lunch, supper, treat or snack.

There will also be a range of handpicked caterers offering the very best fare you could possibly wish for, and catering for all dietary requirements.

And of course there will be organic beer and other drinks to try - and some non-organic ones too!

Britain's Best

Britain's Best

Britain's Best Pavilion will house the very finest food and drink produce that Britain has to offer, as selected by our food experts. We are allocating the pitches in the Pavilion to a selection of fantastic small producers who deserve support and a national platform. Their products include breads, cheeses and meats, cakes, jams, juices and much more. Apply here if you would like to you a part of this pavillion

Cakes vs Pies

Oh how we love Cakes vs Pies!  Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood will again be judging your cakes and pies on the Sunday of the CarFest South and this year there will be more than one competition! There will be categories for children, grown-ups and professionals.  Entry will open to ticket holders closer to the events.

Family Entertainment

Hands on Entertainment

There is a range of activities for all ages at CarFest. For the foodies, Laverstoke Park Farm are running a range of workshops such as ice cream-making, bread-making, butter-churning and salad making. There's a DIY BBQ Zone where you can cook food you’ve bought from around the show and get expert advice from staff and fellow visitors alike.

In the kids area there will be a driving school, theatre shows, silent disco (definitely not just for kids), craft activities of all kinds, the BugFest show and story telling! Charlie Higson will be giving us a sneak preview of The Fallen, the latest book in the terrifying zombie series, The Enemy. Chris Riddell & Paul Stewart, award wining children's authors of The Edge Chronicle series will entertain us with thei dynamic performance.  And lots more!

Air Display and Arena

Air Display and Arena

And as if that’s not enough CarFest will also feature a central Arena for performances of all kinds.  The Dancing Diggers are back with a bigger and better show, the Knights of the Damned jousters who appeared in the North last year are heading South in 2013 and those mad men with their wheelbarrows are back ,the Red Barrows.

And last but not least there will be some amazing air displays to marvel at.  The wonderful Vulcan Bomber will again grace us with its presence as will the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight consisting of a Lancaster Bomber, Hurricane and Spitfire.   The RAF Hot Air Balloon, a massive 105,000 cubic feet balloon made in the UK, will take to the skies (weather permitting) too.

Best of the Fests

Best of the Fests

New for 2013 is Best of the Fests where we are inviting some of Britain's great food festivals to bring their best produce to CarFest.  So far we're talking to the British Asparagus Festival, the Pershore Plum Fesitval and West Dean's Chilli Fiesta and 'Grow! Cook! Eat!' (their big Harvest Festival).  If you have a food festival you would like to bring to CarFest please email us at info@carfest.org.
