Ready, Set, Go! 

In just under two weeks you'll be running The Great Festival Dash at CarFest South, in aid of BBC Children in Need. Here at CarFest HQ, we can't wait to get our trainers on and we'll be seeing you all at the start line…

We know that for lots of you, running the Great Festival Dash will be a huge personal achievement, so don’t miss out on getting sponsorship from friends and family; showing them how every last penny (and every last puff) really does count.

Every penny raised will go towards supporting disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK. Here are some examples of how your sponsorship money can help:

  • £10 pays for a music therapy session at a hospice for children with cancer so that they can have fun and enjoy themselves.
  • £20 provides a counselling session for a 16-year-old girl who lost her dad, helping her feel stronger and able to cope with everyday life.            
  • £30 means disabled children can do an indoor surfing session, where they can have fun while improving their balance and coordination

Come along in your very best fancy dress costume and be in with a chance of winning our ‘best dressed family’ competition. Get inventive and dive into your dress up box to go fancy dress crazy!!

Dash Important Details 

The Great Festival Dash will take place at 10.10am on Saturday 26th August so don’t forget to set those alarms!
  
Your running numbers and joining instructions (including location of the start line, meeting points and warm up timings) will be ready for collection between 1pm-3pm and 6pm-8pm on Friday 25th August at ‘The Great Festival Dash’ registration point.* The registration tent is located near to the campsite entrance and the information point (see the map in your festival guide for reference).
  
As we have lots of people taking part, we urge you to collect your running numbers nice and early on the Friday so that you have everything you need before kicking back and enjoying the music line up!
  
*Please note that on collection of your running numbers, we will need you to sign a disclosure form to make sure you are fit and happy to take part in the run. If you do not collect your running number on the Friday, you will not be able to take part in the run.
   
Finally, don’t forget to pack your trainers and safety pins for your running number!
